Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to receive a score of 10 at the Olympic event. Bela Karrolyi was the Romanian gymnastics coach who later became her coach in later years she discovered her when she was six. First competing in the national junior championships in Romania in 1969 she placed 13th. And in 1970, won. Three gold medals were awarded in her first competition at a junior Olympic meet in 1972, which was a the communist bloc nations. Between 1973 and 1974 she won the junior all-round champion. When she competed for the first time as a senior athlete in the year 1975, she bested the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva the five-time European champion, winning four gold medals and one silver. She was the winner of the American Cup in New York City in 1976, becoming the first woman in history to complete a backward double salto as dismounting from the uneven bars that are parallel. When she was in her teens, she began performing in traveling shows like Ice Capades as a skater along with her younger sibling Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne was a born on the 6th of September, 1942 in Chicago Illinois. Carol entered the entertainment industry when she was in her teens. She began her career as model skater with her younger sister Nina Wayne as part of the traveling entertainment shows named Ice Capades. These shows were ice skating events which included stage performances.
